Black Consulting, Inc. (BCI) is an Oregon corporation specializing in structural vibration monitoring surveys for the offshore oil industry. The procedure enables one to assess structural integrity using low cost topside monitoring. BCI's goal is to offer high quality service to assist companies in maintaining their offshore facilities in fit-for-purpose condition. The technical aspects of this service have been developed over two decades, initially within Unocal Corporation and since 2003 as BCI.

The company’s principal, Dr. Jared Black, has 30+ years of offshore experience ranging from risk analysis, structural design and analysis, collecting and analyzing meteorological and oceanographic data to being responsible for the structural integrity of 100+ production platforms in SE Asia.

With two decades experience in development of the vibration monitoring procedures, a clear understanding of the concept has been established.
